Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 2026 • Version 1.0
At orangecalc.com, privacy is built directly into the software architecture. Unlike conventional web apps that transmit form data to a remote server for processing, 100% of calculations execute client-side, inside your browser's local memory, using native JavaScript.
Zero Server Data Transmission: The numbers, project dimensions, payload weights, materials, formulas, and financial values you enter into any tool never leave your device. Our web servers never receive, process, log, or store your calculation parameters.
1. Data Collection & Processing Principles
OrangeCalc runs on a strict data-minimization architecture. Because our calculation workstations execute entirely within your browser, we do not require, collect, or store:
- Calculation Data: Your inputs, custom parameters, unit toggles, and computed outputs are never transmitted over the network or saved to a remote database.
- Personal Identification: You can use every tool on this site without providing a name, address, phone number, or billing information.
- User Accounts: We don't maintain user accounts or require registration credentials.
- Project Documents: Any clipboard-copy or export function runs locally, inside your browser sandbox.
2. Browser Storage & Local Preferences
OrangeCalc uses standard browser localStorage strictly to remember interface preferences:
- theme: Remembers whether you prefer Dark Mode or Light Mode across visits.
This preference data lives exclusively in your local browser storage. It is never transmitted to our servers, analytics systems, or any third party. You can clear or disable localStorage at any time through your browser settings.
3. Server Logs & Network Security
When you access orangecalc.com, our static hosting provider automatically logs standard technical connection data your browser provides:
- Browser user-agent and operating system version
- Date and time of the request
- Requested static file URL
- IP address
These access logs exist purely for operational security, network routing, DDoS mitigation, and system health monitoring. They're stored on standard rotating security logs and are never linked to a personal profile or to calculator usage.
4. Third-Party Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)
To keep every calculator free and open to tradespeople, students, and professionals worldwide, OrangeCalc partners with third-party advertising networks, including Google:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet.
- Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads based on a visit to orangecalc.com and/or other sites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
- Third-party advertising scripts run strictly inside standard browser sandbox boundaries and have zero access to your calculation inputs, formulas, or output values.
5. External Links
Our editorial content and references may link to independent third-party sites — trade associations, statutory engineering bodies, manufacturers. We aren't responsible for the content, privacy practices, or data handling of external websites.
6. Global Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Under international privacy frameworks including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA):
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data or browsing profiles to data brokers.
- Because we don't collect personal identifiers or calculation histories, we have no personal profiles to disclose, correct, or delete.
- If you email our site leadership directly, that address is used solely to respond to your message.
7. Children's Privacy
OrangeCalc provides educational, professional, and practical computation tools designed for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from anyone under the age of 16.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect platform changes or statutory developments. Any change will be posted directly to this page with an updated Effective Date.
